How to convert SVG to JPG

  1. Add your SVG. Choose the file, drop it on the box, or paste the SVG code.
  2. Pick the size. A scale of the SVG's own size, or an exact width or height in pixels.
  3. Pick the background. JPG has no transparency, so choose the color that fills the empty areas. White suits documents and most websites.
  4. Set the quality. 92 is a good default. Lower values make smaller files but blur the sharp edges that SVG drawings are full of.
  5. Download the JPG. It opens in every app, email client and upload form.

JPG or PNG for a converted SVG?

Most SVGs are logos, icons, charts and illustrations: flat colors with crisp edges. PNG stores those exactly and keeps transparency, and it is often the smaller file for this kind of image. JPG was designed for photographs, and its compression leaves faint smudges around hard edges and text. Choose JPG when a form or a system only accepts JPG, or when the SVG contains photographic images, and keep the quality at 90 or above.

Need transparency? Use the SVG to PNG converter. For print, the SVG to PDF converter keeps the drawing as vectors. To turn a JPG into an SVG instead, use JPG to SVG.

Questions people ask

Is this SVG to JPG converter free?

Yes, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many files you convert. The conversion runs in your browser with its built-in SVG renderer and JPEG encoder, so your file is never uploaded to a server, and the page keeps working if your connection drops after it has loaded.

How do I convert SVG to JPG in Windows?

Open this page in Edge or Chrome, drop the SVG on it, pick a width and a background color, and click Download JPG. Nothing needs installing. If you convert files often and prefer a desktop app, the free vector editor Inkscape opens SVG files and can export them as JPG from its Export dialog.

How do I convert SVG to JPG on a Mac?

The same way: open this page in Safari, Chrome or Firefox, choose the SVG from Finder or drag it onto the drop box, and download the JPG. It lands in your Downloads folder. Safari draws SVG with its own engine, so a file that looks right in Safari converts the same way here.

Can I turn SVG code into an image?

Yes. Click Paste SVG code, paste everything from the opening <svg> tag to the closing one, and click Convert this code. This works for SVG copied from a web page's source, an icon library or a code editor. If the code has no width, height or viewBox, it is treated as the browser default of 300 by 150 pixels.

Why did the transparent parts of my SVG turn white?

JPG cannot store transparency: every pixel has a solid color. The converter fills the transparent areas with the background color you choose, white by default. If you need the see-through areas kept, for a logo placed on a colored background for example, convert to PNG instead, which keeps transparency.
